Leave the giant for thralls to kill and thralls have no cold damage. Frostbite will kill you very fast and no warming will help. Easiest way to get epic gear is to clear out the mounts. Epic class gear has excellent thermal resistance and is the single biggest path to get better thermals. If you want better prep start making your own spiced haunch and try out Mulled brew as it doesn't have alcoholic effects. Later, there are legendary items then warm you. Fiddly.Ībove the low level minimums to get the job done. You need a stove, watered flasks and bee hive\honey.

You get the recipe from Lians watch which you can collect by running in collecting it and running out before anyone hits you then jog over to the mounds, collect shrooms and leavening agents then head home. Mulled brew is fiddly to make, but I often have stack in a fridge, eventually. I can get tp mining black ice in bulk at a very low level on a fresh server start with the above approach. There are many places in the giants cave which have neutral temp. If you are taking damage as you are too cold, just down the healz and keep the health bar topped up. Take a ton of aloe potions, maybe 30 weak aloes will be more than enough. Take a thrall and sick him on the giants at the cave entrance. Stock up on random warming drinks you find. I use Khitan, but I don't think it matters. To get plant fiber and seeds in huge quantities, I recommend a sickle. If you have a T3 or T4 Alchemist you can do it in the Alchemists Bench, it's 2 Bark for 1 spice. Spice is actually quite easy to get, even without thralls you can do it in the Grinder - it's just 10 plant fiber or 10 of any seed per spice. All you need is a cooking stove, spice, and raw meat.

I would recommend bringing some spiced meat with you, it's not perfect but if you make enough and put it on a hotkey you'll be fine.

You can still see minor differences in the Stats screen, however - equip one armor and see what your temperature protections look like on the Stats screen, then equip the other and compare.Īt this point with the way it's balanced now you need some consumables to keep you warm - warm/spicy foods or alcohol will work, but I don't recommend alcohol because the screen effects for drunk are very annoying.
